Vague thoughts about love… and separation…

Posted in English, Reflections at 4:23 pm by Rou...

What is love…?

Is it some feelings you hold for somebody…?

Tayeb what is the definition of a feeling…?

When I searched the dictionary I found that feelings mean: “a physical or mental awareness”… the meaning didn’t quite suit “love” so I moved to the next definition which was: “the emotional side of a person’s nature”

Interesting… so the definition lead me to the fact that feelings are emotions… the question is then what are emotions…?

Oxford dictionary again gave me the answer… emotions mean: “a strong feeling of any kind: love, hate, fear and envy are emotions”

Did you notice what I noticed…? The two definitions lead me to each other… Sarcastic… isn’t it? It’s an everlasting circuit… feelings are emotions and basically emotions are feelings…

Ok then… tayeb let’s throw the definitions idea away and talk merely about… love…

Is love accompanied with pain…?

Balash tayeb… another question…

Does the human nature seek pain…?

Do we find pleasure in hurting ourselves…?

I can live with the fact that I’m hurting myself… but I cannot endure the thought of causing any kind of hurt to anybody… what if ba2a this somebody is your soul mate…!

You might not be causing him/her hurt on purpose… but the fact remains that just because you are existing in his/her life… caused him some kind of pain at some point in time…

When two people leave each other… does it necessarily mean that one of them is bad…? I cannot agree with this… I’ve seen good people… really good ones leaving each others… I’ve always believed that just because somebody seems perfect doesn’t necessarily mean he is perfect for you… perfection is relative… what is perfect for you might be my worst nightmare and vice versa… I guess this rule goes for many things in life… not only relationships…

Tab why then good people leave each other…? Is it just… some bad things crossing their way…?

And when such bad things happen to such good people… how should they react…? What could they do to face the upcoming hurricane…?

I guess…

Some fight for their love… Some leave it to time… and some… just take the easiest path… and separate…

Another Cairo Stadium experience; new perspective!

Posted in English, Reflections at 4:25 pm by Rou...

My first encounter with Cairo stadium had been through the African cup of nations’ championship back in 2006; an unforgettable period of time…

Today I have been to Cairo stadium again…

Why would this present any significant reason to write about…?

Well… it’s the same place yes… but I have experienced it from a completely different perspective this time… The match finale of the Egyptian Cup… Ahly Vs. Zamalek…

I have always heard that comment that if you REALLY want to see the Egyptian society with its categories and morals, then you should pay a visit to Cairo Stadium…

Throughout my previous experiences with Cairo stadium, I didn’t quite feel this comment… As a matter of fact, I remember that the feeling that invaded me back then was more like a “feels like home” feeling… with all those familiar faces and somehow close social standards… However, this time it was rather different… I truly understood how it is like to meet almost all the social standards existing in Egypt in one place… all in one… Not to mention the language used; which I must confess had made me very uncomfortable to an extent that my mind started to automatically filter whatever my ears hear in order to clean it from all the slang swearing attached to any normal sentence… I even understood why the way the crowds support the Egyptian team back in the African Nations cup was sarcastically called “tashge3 7adaary”… I guess it’s because the contrast was really shocking…

The other interesting thing that I have experienced this time is concerning the roars of the crowds… I remember that I commented about the way the Egyptian crowds encourage their team and how continuously and insanely they put strength into their team’s spirit… I also remember that I commented on how hard it must be on the team facing the Egyptian one to keep their courage with all these terrifying roars… My brother commented on my words that day by saying… “Wait till you sit in Zamalek’s benches and some goal crosses its net… you’ll then listen to this terrifying roars you are talking about coming from the other side of the stadium while you are sitting in a side that is almost dying from silence…”

Well… I have heard it myself today… and I must confess that the sound was really… gruesome…

As you must have already noticed, I didn’t talk about a single detail of the match itself… because it wasn’t the point of my writing today… yet, I must say that I have witnessed an incidence that I could almost swear it’s the first time to happen in Zamalek’s history with its fans… Today… even after losing the match and consequently losing the contest, Zamalek fans stayed in a long applause to the team calling every one of them by name and encouraging the whole team in a scene that was very touching and meant only that these people truly love their team and support it in any state as long as they are sure that they have done their best…

Finally, Chapeaux to Zamalek and Congratulation to Ahly… and let’s not forget that it’s all for the good of the national team…

Have a splendid day all…

Love,

   Rou…
